Incoming Postulants' Online Preparatory Retreat for their Formal Acceptance

Despite the ongoing travel restrictions due to the continuing pandemic, Fr. Jessie Martirizar, RCJ, the Director of the Postulancy Program of the St. Matthew Province - in collaboration with Fr. Al John Provido, his assistant, and in coordination with the seminaries in Cebu, Philippines, in Vietnam and Indonesia, which temporarily accommodates the other candidates - facilitates an online preparatory Retreat for the Formal Acceptance of the Postulants for the Formative Year 2020-2021. Using a videotelephony platform, the incoming postulants met virtually for the first time. Fr. Martirizar hosts the spiritual exercise, aptly themed "Lord, Here I am", from the Postulancy Center at the St. Hannibal Rogate Center in Parañaque City, from the 12th until the 14th of August, 2020. May this technological novelty, necessitated by the current threatening situation, be appreciated and managed for the benefit of all, and may this peculiar virtual encounter prove itself a worthy provisional remedy to the issue of "distant" formation. God bless us all, most especially of formands and formators!
