3 February 2018 | The Religious in the Diocese of Parañaque celebrated their first Summit with the Most. Rev. Jesse Mercado, D.D., Bishop of Paranaque, at the Presentation of Child Jesus Parish. In line with the Year of the Clergy and Consecrated Persons, the theme of the gathering was: “Ka-Lakbay, Ka-Akbay, Ka-Agapay ng Layko tungo kay Kristo”,
The Summit started with the chanting of the Lauds and then the celebration of the Holy Mass. After which, a short talk on the Clergy and the Consecrated Life in the light of Vatican II by Rev. Fr. Francis Gustilo, SDB. This was then followed by the concurrent sessions into which all the participants were grouped according to their ministries, and shared their thoughts on the most pressing challenges and issues that they’re dealing with now. They shared as well their existing programs or suggestions to cope with the said challenges and issues. Noteworthy as well is that Bishop Jesse was also able to listen to the different sectors of the ministries of the religious in his diocese.
Before lunch was happily shared by each Congregation, oriented towards a better organization and connection among the religious in the diocese, there was the election of coordinators and officers by vicariate.
This is just the start of a series of gathering of the Religious in the Diocese on this Year of the Clergy and Consecrated Persons.
