From the 6th until the 13th of July, 2018, Fr. Herman Abcede, the Provincial Superior did his Canonical Visit to the Sideia Mission Centre in Papua New Guinea. He had the opportunity to meet His Lordship Rolando Santos, CM, the Bishop of Alotau-Sideia, with whom he concelebrated with the other priests of the Diocese in a Eucharistic Celebration, during which two seminarians were ordained deacons, at the Cathedral. In Sideia, he had an encounter with the religious community and even held personal dialogues with them, while also taking time to visit all the institutions under the care of the missionaries there. They also had the chance to visit one local village, named and dedicated to St. Hannibal Mary. Travelling back to the Philippines, via Port Moresby, they were invited by the Salesian Sisters of Don Bosco, through Sr. Juliet De Leon, the Animator of their community there, to pay a visit to their institution. Bro. Christian Allan De Sagun, the Provincial Secretary, documented the visit, through chronicles and photos. May the Lord of the harvest continually bless this mission with vocations, both missionaries and from among its own sons and daughters!
