As a pontifical clerical religious Institute, founded by St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia (1851-1927), the Congregation of the Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus (RCJ) finds its spirituality in the words of Jesus in the Gospel “The harvest is rich but the workers are few. Pray, therefore, the Lord of the harvest that He may send workers into His harvest" (Mt.9:37-38/Lk.10:2).

With deep sorrow let me inform you about the untimely departure of our Young Religious Bro. Ajin George Moolakunnel (22ys old).  He was born on 27th March 1996 at Assan Kavala, Kannur. He was the first child of Geroge and Benzy. He entered our seminary in Manathavady on 10th June 2012 and had his postulancy at Aimury 1st June. de his first profession on 16th May 2017 at Rogate Ashram. He was doing his second year philosophical studies at CST Seminary. He has two young brothers at Plus two and 10th respectively.

He was a vibrant religious and very responsible young man. Yesterday he even had basketball game with other religious. However, this morning (14th February 2019) after the Holy Mass while having breakfast he collapsed in the refectory and was rushed to the Rajagiri Hospital. A group of Doctors made all their clinical effort to save his life. But could not make it. He was confirmed dead by the doctors by 8.30.am. His body is still in Rajagiri Hospital and once his parents will arrive, we will bring it to Rogate Ashram and will have holy mass and special prayers. Bishop Thomas Chakkiath will celebrate the holy mass. Hopefully, after one  hour, his body will be taken to his own parish: St.Thomas Parish, Vijopuram, Kannur and will have the funeral there tomorrow 15th February 2019 at 3.pm. Bishop Joseph Pamplani, Auxiliary Bishop of Thalassery will officiate the funeral service.

Kindly entrust his soul to the Lord and invoke God’s blessings on his sorrowing family as well as on our young confreres who are   deeply disturbed with his unexpected demise.

Eternal Rest Grant Unto him, O Lord and let your Perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in Peace!
