As a pontifical clerical religious Institute, founded by St. Hannibal Mary Di Francia (1851-1927), the Congregation of the Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus (RCJ) finds its spirituality in the words of Jesus in the Gospel “The harvest is rich but the workers are few. Pray, therefore, the Lord of the harvest that He may send workers into His harvest" (Mt.9:37-38/Lk.10:2).

Start of the formation for formators at the UPS

Seven Rogationist formators began the formation for formators program at the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome on 18 February 2019, which will last until 31 May. This annual intensive course is already in its 34thyear. There are 89 participants in all, coming from 28 countries and belonging to over 30 Congregations and Dioceses. The Rogationist participants come from 4 Circumscriptions and 5 countries.

The Course has been designed to respond to the need for ongoing formation of the formators in the consecrated life and in the diocesan clergy. The course intends to offer a forum to reflect on the formation of vocations and to make a serious "work on oneself" with the aim of an authentic spiritual and pedagogical renewal to those who work in formation. Above all, it is a matter of reviewing the methodological path of the initial religious and seminary formation process.

The Course, therefore, is a precious pedagogical aid for those formators who have an experience of some years already and are still responsible for initial and ongoing formation.

The course at the UPS is the second phase of the ongoing formation for Rogationist formators organized at the general level. The first phase is an intensive Italian language course and the third is a deepening of the charismatic aspect in formation.
